Meet Jemma

The Scientist
Behind the Work.

Researcher. Speaker. Human behaviour expert. Helping organisations understand the science behind stress, sleep, emotional intelligence and human performance.

About Dr Jemma King

Understanding why people perform at their best.

Dr Jemma King is a researcher, speaker and human behaviour expert whose work sits at the intersection of psychology, physiology and performance. She helps leaders, teams and organisations understand how the human brain and body respond under pressure—and how those responses can be trained to improve decision-making, wellbeing and sustained performance.

As an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Queensland's School of Psychology, Jemma's research explores stress, emotional intelligence, sleep and human performance in environments where the stakes are high. Her work bridges academic research with practical application, translating complex behavioural science into strategies people can immediately apply.

Research in practice

From research to real-world performance.

Jemma completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a first-class Honours degree in Business Management and a PhD in Human Behaviour at the University of Queensland. Her doctoral research examined how emotional intelligence influences physiological stress responses.

Rather than leaving research in academic journals, Jemma has spent her career bringing it into environments where performance matters most—from military personnel and elite athletes to executive leadership teams across government, education and business.

The standard behind the work

Evidence that changes behaviour.

Every keynote, workshop and leadership program is built on peer-reviewed research and practical experience.

“Participants don't simply learn about stress—they experience it, regulate it and understand how to perform when it matters.”
Tested under pressure

Refined through work with Australian Special Forces personnel, police tactical teams, elite athletes and senior executives.

Measurable outcomes

Jemma's research demonstrates improvements in biological stress regulation and performance under pressure.
